Level 1, Tuesday 11th November 2025, 9:30am
This one day course will combine both lecture and practical content to look at cone beam computed scanning as a valuable tool in modern dentistry. Based on the Level 1 Curriculum it will be aimed at those considering the investment in a CBCT machine and those who already refer patients for scans. In a heavily regulated field of dentistry, compliance with the regulators is more important than ever. This course will include elements of these regulatory requirements providing the key components to help users carry out safe cone beam scanning.
Some of the content will be pre-recorded and available to registrants either before or after the course.
The course aims to cover the following topics
- In keeping with the Level 1 curriculum, attendee’s will learn about the radiation protection measures associated with cone beam computed tomography
- When to refer and what information is the scan likely to give.
- How to read a cone beam volume
- The relevant radiographic anatomy on a scan of the dento-alveolar region
- Radiation physics in dental radiography – the main concepts
